New use of recycled windmill rotor blades as aggregate for UHPC

UHPC grouting material has been been used
in the offshore and onshore industry worldwide
for more than 25 years.
Mostly, UHPC Grout was used to fill transition
pieces and other foundation systems for wind
energy, oil production, tidal power plants and
floating windmill platforms.

Recently UHPC concrete has also used in
these areas as corrosion protection of the systems.

Another development for the future could be
the combination of UHPC concrete and
recycled rotor blade material for us.
Several thousand used blades from offshore and
onshore windmill systems are lying on
the ground for recycling or final disposal.
Storage has become a problem in some countries.

In many industry application we use glass
fibers, carbon fibers or plastic fibers as
aggregates to our UHPC concrete.

For the processing industry, we are working
on projects to mix industrial dusts with UHPC
concrete to make them suitable for final disposal.
In certain projects we used glass fibers, carbon
fibers, steel fibers, synthetic fibers and basalt
fibers. We can also easily use recycled plastic
and rubber.

We are currently working on several projects
for floating windmill constructions, corrosion
protection for old monopile systems and deepsea
constructions.

About projects in the recycling industry, we
came to the idea that it should also be possible
to combine UHPC with recycled rotor blades.
